This volunteer position processes our donated books by assessing the books and sorting them into 50 different categories.​

Rough sort sessions are held Mondays from 1:00 to 3:00 and Thursdays and Saturdays from 10:00 to noon. Experienced rough sorters can work independently on their own schedule.​

Learning to sort books requires a three-hour training session followed up with continued guidance.

This volunteer position is done at the warehouse using a computer. Books are scanned to determine if they have enough value to sell online. Researchers are trained to search online for books and to determine book condition.

This position requires training to look up books accurately on a computer using our software and to judge the condition of each book. Requires four to six hours of training along with continuous mentoring and guidance.

Before books are offered for sale online, volunteers carefully inspect and clean them, and flag any flaws that need to be divulged to customers.

This job is typically done at the warehouse, but arrangements could be made to do at home. It requires 4-6 hours of training and continuous mentoring and guidance.

This includes packing and moving boxes of books from one area of the warehouse to another, from the donation shed to the sorting table and from the warehouse to the storage containers. Although we use carts and dollies to move boxes from place to place, some lifting is required. Requires two hours of training.

Books that will be shipped and sold online need a written description of their condition. Writers will be trained to use our software.

This volunteer position can be done at our warehouse or in the comfort of your own home using your computer.

We require many hands to make our sale happen each year and we welcome new volunteers to join the fun!

We need help with everything from moving empty boxes to displaying books on tables. ​
