Book Blast — Feb. 6, 2023

Sorry for the delayed February Book Blast! There is a fair amount of info as usual, so please read to the end.

Amazon: Thank you all for our Amazon success in January! Fulfilled by Amazon sold 1,109 books for $13,568. Fulfilled by Merchant (us) sold 16 books for a profit of $1,093. This is a total 1,125 books for $14,661.

Outside Sales: In January, we made $1,102. Thanks for thinking outside the box.
Outside sales are sales that are not Amazon or the Sale. Keep those ideas coming!

Masking: Masking is no longer required at the warehouse, but it is suggested to stop the spread of Covid and Flu. Stay healthy, and please do not come to the warehouse if you are feeling ill.

Rough Sort: Wednesday Rough Sorts are not going to come back in February. There will be no Rough Sorts on Thursday, April 13th and Saturday, April 15th ,to accommodate  the Dealer Sale.
Lead Rough Sort Times
Monday 1-3pm
Thursday 10am-12pm
Saturday 10am-12pm

Up Coming Dealer Sale: The Dealer Sale is on April 15th from 8am-12noon. Please do not come to the warehouse during those times if you are not specifically working the dealer sale. We need the parking space and extra people get in the way of the dealers. More info to come in the March book blast.

Updated Website!: The book sale website has been updated, please have a look and check everything out. The same website address as before will still work, or you can go there directly at https://booksale.ppcentralcoast.org/

More PP Swag!: We have more and different PP swag for sale in the sign-in room beginning this week. This includes new T-shirts, hats, notebooks, fanny packs, and more. There will be a price list up. You can leave cash in the marked envelope or use a check made out to PPCCC. No tax on these purchases.

Free Books to Volunteers!: All of our valued volunteers, did you know that we have a bookshelf of free books just for you? These are quality books that a category owner recommends, but simply has too many. We can’t sell ten copies of “L is for Lawless” or “The New York Times Cookbook” so YOU get them for free. Check the bookshelf under the rescue table and take one or take many and give them way. And to our category owners, keep them coming!

Pricing of books and puzzles and games: We understand that when rough sorting, folks find items that they would like to buy or you hear about a book that you’d like to read.

  • If you want to buy a book, either consult with a chair, with the category owner for the book, or submit the book with a price-request slip in the sign-in room..
  • If you want to buy a puzzle or game, fill out a price-request slip and affix it with a rubber band or blue tape and then place the item in the puzzles and games box.  Alternatively, the item can be put upstairs in the Puzzles & Games room where you will find a box for puzzles and games to be priced. When priced, the item will be placed on a table in the sign-in room.

There are lots of already priced books ready to pick in the sign in room.

Amazon Smile: Amazon Smile is going away across the platform.

Plastic Packing and Boxes for Amazon: Please continue to bring in plastic packaging pillows and bubble wrap) for use in shipping. We do not ship using paper. Also, boxes to ship books for FBM (fulfilled by merchant) can be brought in and left in the office for shipping.

Thank you,
The Chairs- Christina, Fran, and Eliot
