Category Owner News — April 16, 2023
Congratulations Category Owners! Saturday’s Dealer Sale brought in more than $7,000, which is over $1,500 more than last year’s sale. Thanks to all of you who curated books on tables and in your bins. Thanks to everyone who worked the sale. The importance of the Dealer Sale: 1. We make some money mid-year. 2. We create goodwill among the dealers who frequent our sales. 3. We sold some books (well over 2,000) that we don’t need to pay to move to EW at $5 per box. 4. We clear out space so we don’t run out of room in the containers before EW. The new website: Reminder that there is a link to volunteer information on our new website. This includes a comprehensive FAQ for COs. You will also find links to previous book and category owner blasts there. We look to our existing volunteers and request any ephemera you might have from previous sales. Please leave anything you can share in the History Project mailbox in the office. Please include your name so that we can digitize it and return it to you. Let’s party: Mark your calendars–June 1st at the Brass Bear Uptown (3302 McGaw Avenue) from 1-3 pm. Food and drinks, wine, beer, and sodas, will be served. Spouses and significant others are welcome. Come remind yourselves who are amazing volunteers are! If you have not yet RSVP’d, please do so by May 15, by emailing Natalie at [email protected] or call her at (805) 722-7870. We want to have a raffle at the party, giving tickets to all volunteers. If you are one of our crafty volunteers, please think about what you might donate to the raffle. The more items, the better. You can drop things off in the office. Next stop –EW! Again, thanks for all you do! Fran, Christina, and Eliot |
